Mission and objectives:
The course is addressed to specialists in the field of finance, banking, capital markets and stock exchanges, the pension funds and insurance, as well as specialists in the field of financial administration.
The training has two parts: financial management at the level of company and the management of financial markets, aiming the improvement of theoretical and practical knowledge through courses, debates and laboratory work, in the following fields: the economy of company and the theory of competitive markets, the financial management of companies, financial accounting and financial institutions, portfolio management, foreign exchange management relations, management and technical banking, insurance, reinsurance and private pension funds, financial management in public administration and financial management of environment projects, financial econometrics and economic forecasting, human resources management.

Final exam: Dissertation (held in front of the Dissertation Committee)


Master – Financing of Social Protection

Mission and objectives:

The mission of the master program consists of completing and improving knowledge in economics, management and finance, acquired by graduates of faculties with economic profile, by studying specific issues of social economy and social policy, as well as preparing the graduates of other fields like sociologists, psychologists, lawyers, physicians, etc., involved in the management and administration systems of social protection.
The program is addressed to those interested in both aspects of theoretical and practical financing of social protection systems, in the broader context of functioning economic and social system; the master program is also addressed to researchers, practitioners from institutions of social protection and from the central and local administration, to actors involved in social dialogue at different levels of the activities of social protection, and also involved in founding, promotion and monitoring the social policies and programs.

Specific objectives of the program are following:
- the development of the necessary theoretical understanding of the construction and operation systems of social protection, founding policy and development projects in the field, further research of various aspects and problems of social and relationship with the economic, social and political implications of policy evaluation and measures of the economy on the needs of social protection, resources and functionality of social protection systems;
- formation of necessary skills for coordination and management of social protection systems, for the management of institutions involved in financing and operation schemes of social protection at the national and local level, for the management of funds, the identification of negative factors affecting the evolution of social protection systems and carrying out the measures to minimize their influence, solve certain problems or certain crisis occurred because of unforeseen events; the analysis and elaboration of reports on various aspects of the functionality of social protection systems, the control of activities developed in social protection institutions;
- accumulation of technical knowledge referring to the functioning of social protection systems, to the structure and characteristics of the protection schemes, to the particularities of management and financing, the ways of assessing the performance and effectiveness of systems and their informational system;
- learning the theoretical, conceptual and methodological tools necessary to evaluation the state and the evolution of the main components of social protection systems, understanding relationships between economic development, social development and ecological component of development, structure and analysis of the characteristics of systems of social protection in the EU Member States; understanding the concerns of reform in the field, as well as understanding and applying creative strategies and programs of social fields or those programs with an incidence in the social field;
- developing the capacity of research in the field of social economy, especially of social protection issues;
- formation of a responsible attitude towards assessing the social impact of economic activities, the economic policies and the need for social protection of persons / groups affected, compared to the achievement of the objectives and principles and compliance requirements related to the social responsibility of business;
- stimulating the availability and development the capacity in employment relations of partnership formed to the progress of social programs and work in interdisciplinary teams, the understanding and support for persons / groups are subject to risks and who need social protection.
